Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Shihuigou of Choujinpo, about 6 km north by east of Qingping Township, Mianzhu County, Sichuan. It was named by Li Tao and Zhao Jingde in 1945.
Lithology and Thickness
Limestone. Dominated by thin-bedded limestone. Can be divided into 5 layers, which are ascending: (1) gray-yellow limestone occasionally intercalated with green thin-bedded clayey limestone and shale, bottom unexposed, ~40 m thick; (2) purple-red pure limestone, fragile and with smooth fractures, containing coral Diphyphyllum sp. and brachiopod Eochoristites neipentaiensis transverse, 51 m thick; (3) thin-bedded limestone, in yellow color after being weathered, 57 m thick; (4) yellow-white thin-bedded limestone, with oil odor, as coarse-grained as sand after being weathered, containing poorly preserved fossil fragments, 128 m thick; (5) light red and white thick-bedded crystalline limestone, 139 m thick.
Composed of light purple-brown limestone intercalated with thin-bedded limestone, fragile, forming the axial part of the anticline around Choujinpo.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Unknown: The relationship with the underlying Devonian stratum is unclear
Upper contact
Conformable contact to the overlying Qiangou Fm limestone [Not in Lexicon or China-Strat-unit books] with a vague boundary
Regional extent
Exposed between Maoxian County and Mianzhu County.

Fossils
The limestone at Shimenkan and Chayuangou of Guangdongba in northern Qingping Township contains Brachiopod Eochoristites neipentaiensis.
